Digital Business Kits provide industry-specific information and resources to assist small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) and not-for-profit (NFPs) organisations engage in the digital economy and take advantage of the opportunities available through digital technologies and broadband-enabled platforms.
The Australian Government, in partnership with 9 national industry peak bodies, has developed Digital Business Kits (DBK) for the following industries:
The kits include online tutorials and case studies that show how using digital technologies can improve interactions with customers and suppliers, support cloud computing and expand access to new markets. Each kit will be regularly updated to incorporate new ways of making use of digital technologies as these emerge across each sector.
Australian SMEs are not making full use of online opportunities as extensively as those in leading digital economies. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics only 41 per cent of SMEs have a website, and only 27 per cent accept orders online. Small businesses account for around 96 per cent of all Australian businesses.
The kits are now available and can be accessed through the Digital Business website.
