TIQ Commissioner for Hong Kong Praises Bundaberg's Attributes

Following the most recent visit to our region by representative of the Hong Kong food industry, The Trade & Investment Queensland (TIQ) Commissioner to Hong Kong, Ms Angela To, has delivered a presentation of our region to industry players on behalf of Mayor Mal Forman.

According to Mr Ronald Lau of the Hong Kong Food Council, "Apart from delivering the message of the Lord Mayor, Ms. To has given an excellent picture of Bundaberg for investment, travelling and education, with description in farming and marine produce, health, food and aviation studies and research possibilities."

Students' Futures Looking Better

2015 Student Futures Forum

Industry leaders and school Principals gathered together on Wednesday for the second annual Student Futures Forum for the Bundaberg region, held at Across the Waves sports club.

The event, which involved six State High Schools from across the region, sought to engage representatives from a cross-section of local industries through membership of the ongoing Bundaberg Regional Youth Hub (BRYH) reference group.

Bundaberg Regional Council welcomes Queensland’s lead to encourage entrepreneurship and innovation.
The Queensland government placed high emphasis on the role of startups in the economy in its latest budget, with a $24 million cash injection aiming to strengthen the state’s startup ecosystem.
Council’s Commercial Business and Economic Development Manager, Cameron Bisley says the new focus and funding for startups has the potential to create many local jobs.

Bundaberg Regional Council again invites you to attend our annual ‘Bundy 4 Breakfast’ Economic Development Forum. Please come and join with other local business leaders, Councillors and personnel from both the State and Federal Governments as we undertake an analysis of the Region’s economy, projects and performance over the past year.

This year’s event will feature an informative presentation by the Queensland Chair in Digital Economy which is a role supported by PwC, QUT and the Queensland Government and again we showcase a number of great local business success stories.
