The multi-unit fuelled growth in home building in Queensland during 2014 is giving way to a strong recovery in detached housing.
Stuart Collins, HIA’s Branch Manager said “home building approvals recorded by the ABS for Queensland in the 12 months to November 2014 are up 13% for detached homes over the same period in 2013.
“Most of the growth in detached home approvals has been centred on the South East of the State.
“Detached home approvals grew by 27% in Brisbane, 32% on the Gold Coast and 34% on the Sunshine Coast.
“Some regional areas of the State non-reliant on the resource sector also showed signs of resurgence with Bundaberg the pick of these with growth of 43%.
